The last two pieces of electronics are the Barograph and
Bilge Pump monitor.
We have a Meteograf Barograph
which is a hybrid electronic and analog barometer. A
digital displays shows the current pressure and the
change in pressure during the last 1, 5, 15, 30 and
60 minutes. A paper chart displays the pressure over
the last 3 1/2 days. It is entirely self contained
with only a single roll of paper and battery
necessary to keep it running for an entire year.
It’s really a nice unit.

The final piece of electronic
equipment is a Celectron Bilge Pump BW8 monitor. We
have three electric bilge pumps, two 4,000 gph pumps
in the salon keel sumps which drain most of the boat
via limber holes, and one 2,000 gph in the bow
locker that picks up water from the chain locker,
air conditioning condensation, and whatever water
enters through the bow locker hatch. The bilge pump
monitor sounds an alarm whenever any of these pumps
runs for more than 5 seconds (the delay for the
alarm is programmable) and also keeps a record or
each activation. The activation history allows the
detection of any chronic problems. It’s a very well
thought out device with lots of programmability and
flexibility.
